POLICE have given the all clear after Heathrow's Terminal 5 was partially evacuated.
It is believed the incident involved a suspect package, although there have been reports of a man threatening to blow himself up.
The alert affected ground-side departures, with no new passengers allowed to enter the building, although planes were taking off and leaving as normal.
The Metropolitan Police said the incident had been stood down just after 2pm today.
A BAA spokesman confirmed: "The police incident that caused the partial evacuation of Terminal 5 has been stood down. The Terminal 5 departures concourse has now been reopened following an earlier police incident. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused to passengers while police attended this incident."
British Airways, the only airline to fly out of T5, posted this message on their website: "London Heathrow Terminal 5 departure area has been reopened following a security incident. We aplogise to ur customers for any delay they experience."
