A MOTHER was assaulted on a bus in front of her young son.

Brent Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault on the number 183 bus in Kenton Road on the February 11, shortly before 3.30pm.

The 31-year-old woman boarded the bus with her four-year-old son and a group of school children boarded at the same time. People kept edging forward and the suspect shouted for everyone to stop pushing.

The victim, who was directly behind the suspect, advised her son to be careful in case the suspect thought he was pushing. The suspect swore at the victim and punched her in the face, knocking her to the ground.

He is described as a black youth, possibly 13 or 14 years old, about 5ft 8in tall and of medium build.

The youth was wearing a black beenie hat, school uniform, white shirt and a black jacket which had a white logo and writing on left breast area.

He was carrying a blue Nike rucksack over his back and had a stud earring in his left ear.

The school logo was not visible on his uniform.

Sergeant Chris Simpkins from the Safer Transport Team said: “This is an appalling act of violence which has left a four-year-old traumatised by his mum getting punched. If anyone has any information they are asked to call the Safer Transport Team on 020 8733 3809.”
