The teenage pedestrian involved in a collision with a car in Uxbridge yesterday (Wednesday, November 19) was treated for minor injuries before being taken to Hillingdon Hospital.

London Ambulance Service (LAS) said it was called at just after 3.35pm to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Bakers Road.

"We sent an ambulance crew and a responder by car.

"We treated a teenager reported to be 17 years-old for elbow and back injuries. She was taken to Hillingdon Hospital," a spokesperson for LAS said.

According to eyewitness Paul Coleman who works in the underground car park in Bakers Road, Uxbridge, the girl was walking in the road near to Uxbridge Bus Station when she was hit by a car pulling out of the car park.

Mr Coleman then described seeing the car accelerate across the road and crash into the Norwich Union House building opposite.

The building is being redeveloped and the car had become embedded in scaffolding put up outside it.

Workers were spotted fixing the scaffolding well into the evening.

Police closed off Bakers Road and access to Uxbridge Bus Station and Uxbridge Underground Station while paramedics were at the scene.

Transport for London said bus services that use the bus station - the 222, 331, 427, 607, A10, U1, U3, U4, U5, U7, U9 and U10 - were all diverted, with some delays.
