A man has appeared in court following three minicab robberies which took place on the same night.

Graham Cook, 21, of Townsend Way, Northwood, was arrested on Friday and charged with three counts of robbery, arson and possession of a controlled drug.

He appeared at Uxbridge Magistrate's Court on Saturday and was remanded in custody and now awaits a hearing date at crown court.

The attacks took place last Thursday morning, between the hours of 1am and 4am.

One of the victims, minicab driver Terry Green, 59, from Uxbridge has told how after his minicab was found burned out, he fears for his future as he has been left without a job.

Mr Green said: "I don't know what to do; I've lost my income.

"The car was only insured third party because it is so expensive to do it fully comprehensive."

The alleged robberies took place in The Avenue, Cowley; Goshawk Gardens, Hayes; and Northwood Way, Northwood.

Superintendent Peter Withers of Hillingdon Police said: "These types of incidents are unusual and isolated in this borough.

"Minicab companies in the borough will be given the opportunity for crime prevention advice should they wish to receive it."

Police are also looking for a second man, also believed to be in his late teens or early 20s. [25a0] Call Hillingdon Police on 020 8246 1447 with any information.
