ONE of the many ways in which the Rotary movement encourages development of youth is through the annual Rotary Youth Leadership Award.

This is a course in Snowdonia which develops team working and leadership skills while taking part in exciting outdoor activities combining both mental and physical challenges, all under expert supervision.

The Rotary Club of Uxbridge is seeking candidates, aged between 18 and 25, in education or working, to take part in this year's course which is from July 25 to 31, with an induction day, locally, on July 10.

The cost to the candidate is nil - the Rotary Club pays all expenses and provides transport.

You do not need any previous experience and specialist equipment is supplied.

Anyone interested in taking part is asked to contact Rotarian Simon Nash on 07740 706 168 or email nash50@btinternet.com - if possible, by April 15, so interested parties are urged to apply now.

This is truly a worthwhile course which has benefits both for the candidate and the community.

Employers and headteachers are welcome to recommend a candidate.
