SO, SOUTHALL resident Robin Taylor justifies his obsessive letter writing on all things Hounslow with the assertion that he works in Hounslow.

I would suggest that a great many people work outside their borough of residence but few, if any, feel the need to pursue Mr Taylor's most unnatural course and concern themselves with matters that they ultimately have no control over come election time.

Indeed he asks why, instead of singling him out, I haven't objected to the current mayor being a resident of Hillingdon, seeminglyoblivious to the fact that she was democratically elected by her fellow councillors and neither myself nor Mr Taylor were eligible to participate in the poll.

Whatever I think about Cllr Hibbs, Lord Ashcroft or whoever else Mr Taylor wants to throw into the mix, these people are not continually jumping up on their soapbox criticising a borough they don't even live in.

As for his closing remark stating that I'm 'a frequent and outspoken supporter of Hounslow's ruling Tory/ICG coalition' - since when?

Mr Taylor, if you can find 'frequent' examples of me heaping praise on this current coalition from your apparently extensive archive of local material, let's hear about them.

If you cannot, no more letters to the press containing inaccurate statements.

In fact, I believe there are matters far closer to home you could be concerning yourself with right now.

I understand that your very own Ealing Council is considering cutting/stopping its funding to the charity Southall Black Sisters because its service does not cater for the whole community.

On your past form Mr Taylor, this is surely right up your street - be offended and protest on behalf of ethnic minorities on your own doorstep, rather than those in Hounslow.

I'm sure you'll find that as a legitimate member of Ealing's electorate, your views on this issue will command far more respect than your dubious comments about Hounslow Council.
