FLIGHTS from Mexico into Heathrow are being monitored for suspected cases of Swine Flu.

Hillingdon Council confirmed they were putting measures in place to cope with any suspected which may come into the country, as they find themselves on the front-line for any suspected victims coming in through the airport.

Kathy Sparks, director of environment and consumer protection, said: "No cases of swine flu have been identified in the UK or anywhere in Europe. As the Port Authority for Heathrow Airport we are currently monitoring all direct flights from Mexico as a precaution.

"We have doctors in the airport at all times and should we receive instructions from the Department for Health or the Health Protection Agency, we are well placed to respond with additional measures."

In Mexico nearly 100 people have died from the virus, sparking fears of a global pandemic.
