FORMER Olympic swinner Duncan Goodhew took the role of Santa at a grotto with a watery difference.
About 20 children visited the Olympic gold medallist along with his 'elves' - six-time swimming world champion Mark Foster and Commonwealth synchronised swimming silver medallist Jenna Randall.
The youngsters, met the athletes at the Park Club in East Acton Lane, Acton where their families are members. The children took a dip and received Christmas gifts.
The event on Tuesday (December 14) was held to highlight the importance of the sport in helping to stay fit and healthy, as well as raise awareness of the Help a London Child Christmas appeal.
The charity supports children affected by poverty, illness, disability abuse and homelessness.
Duncan Goodhew said: “I think the aqua grotto is a great idea. It’s an opportunity to combine the magic of Christmas with the fun of swimming to give these children an enjoyable day while taking part in a healthy activity.”
