I HAVE just read the front page article in the Uxbridge Leader about the proposed north-south express bus routes - and we were invited to email any comments to you.
I think it is an excellent idea, as such routes are certainly lacking.
However, I hope the intention is that the South Ruislip to Stockley Park route is routed from Ickenham to Uxbridge via Hillingdon station, and not via the U1 route up Swakeleys Road.
There has never been a bus route since the 98 days (which you might not remember) which links Hillingdon station with West Ruislip station via Long Lane.
I have had casual conversations with a number of people who live in the area of Ickenham nearer Hillingdon station who feel this is lacking, as sometimes it is convenient to use the Central Line or Chiltern Railways.
The Central Line is a good route to the new shopping complex at White City, and Chiltern Railways is an excellent route to Marylebone.
I did meet someone recently who took the matter up with Transport for London, but they got nowhere.
So please, if this can be done, I believe a number of people in our area would be very thankful.
