TWO cannabis factories were discovered in Hillingdon, as Met officers closed in on suspected drug dealers in a day of targeted raids across London.

Operation Hawk, which aims to crack down on street level dealing, was first launched last September, with intelligence coming largely from the public reporting drug activity in their neighbourhoods.

It is an ongoing operation, and Chief Inspector Rob Wilson, who led the operation in Hillingdon, He said: "Tackling drugs is a priority for many of our Safer neighbourhoods Teams.

"Operation Hawk has again been successful for us and it is our intention to continue to arrest those involved in drug crime, seize drugs and close down cannabis factories.

"I urge our residents that if they suspect drug crime in their neighbourhoods or suspect a cannabis factory then please inform us. We will take what ever action that is required - whether it is obtaining a search warrant from court, tracking down suspects or increase patrols in your area - we will do it."
