CHILDREN around the borough dressed up and took part in fun activities for BBC’s Children in Need, with one school receiving a surprise visit.
West Lodge Primary School, West End Lane, Pinner was one of the lucky schools to be chosen to be filmed by the BBC because of its outstanding efforts to raise money for the charity each year.
Pupils and staff received a surprise visit from last year’s X Factor winners, all-girl pop group Little Mix, and Pudsey, the charity’s mascot, and were filmed making badges for Children in Need.
The visit took place on October 24, but was top secret until it was broadcast on the charity show on Friday last week.
Headteacher Kim James said: “It was a lovely day, the children were so excited when they pulled the curtains back and saw Little Mix. Pretty much everyone in the school then watched Children in Need on Friday to see if they could see themselves, which some of them did. We always raise money for Children in Need. This year we raised £1,500 and we have recently raised £7,100 for the NSPCC.”
