Sunrise Cafe in Bell Parade - where the owners claim to have found the winning recipe to beat the recession - has scooped an award for customer service.

Sunrise Cafe, in Bell Parade, Hounslow, is one of five firms across the borough to be honoured in the inaugural Swift Awards.

The eatery, which was set up more than 20 years ago, has weathered the financial storm by serving up 'credit crunch specials' and keeping portions as big as possible.

Manager Adife Yilmaz, who has been in charge since 2002, said: "We try to keep prices as low as possible and give people extras with their meals whenever we can.

"Most of our customers have been coming here for years and if we know them we give them credit so they can pay when they're able to afford it."

More than 50 companies were nominated for the inaugural awards, with judges investigating how they set prices, resolved complaints and looked after loyal customers.

The other local winners are:
Parker Car Service, a taxi firm based in Fleming Way, Isleworth
Broad Lane Garage in Broad Lane, Hampton
Silverdale Boarding Kennels & Cattery in Bedfont Road, Feltham
Total Car Care, a repair and servicing garage in School Road, Hounslow

They will all be listed on www.SwiftRelief.co.uk , a new online business directory set up by online insurance company swiftcover.com
