CUSTOMERS can enjoy coffee, cake and free internet connections at a new Rayners Lane Estate community cafe.

The Sunlight Cafe, in the foyer of Beacon Community Centre in Scott Crescent, South Harrow, has been open 10am to 2pm on weekdays since January 7.

It is run by Kenton catering firm Hazel’s Kitchen, which specialises in English and Caribbean cuisine, and offers free wi-fi access for clients.

Company managing director Hazelyn Yates said: “We provide hot food and sandwiches and drinks for the community and the staff of the Beacon Centre.

“The feedback is fantastic. There used to be a cafe run by volunteers and people on the estate are pleased that it’s back, especially the elderly.”

Home Group, landlord of the Rayners Lane Estate and The Beacon Centre, created the cafe by supplementing the existing kitchen with tables and chairs in the foyer.
