GREENFORD High were thrilled to grab their best ever GCSE results.

The school in Lady Margaret Road, Southall, came out with 81 per cent of their students getting five or more A* to C grades including Maths and English.

Headteacher Mathew Cramer said: “This is an eight per cent increase for us and makes us one of the highest achieving comprehensive schools in the country.

“I am really delighted for our students and their families, just as I am incredibly proud of the staff, governors and parents. We have all worked together to help the students achieve the best possible results we could have hoped for.”

The highest performing student at Greenford High was Safia Elmi with 10 A* grades. She said: “I couldn’t believe my results. I had to work really hard for them, but in the end it was worth it.”
