TEEN student Paula Cogan was a VIP guest at the Formula 1 Santander British Grand Prix at Silverstone race track.

Paula, 19, from Willesden, was invited by Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone to watch the race on Saturday, July 6, as part of a partnership between Formula 1 and Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital.

Paula was born with cystic fibrosis, which affects the lungs and digestive system, and has spent her life undergoing treatment.

At aged 15 she needed to use a wheelchair, but underwent a successful double lung transplant at the hospital and now leads an active life and is at university.

The money this year’s season raises will help fund a new surgery centre at the hospital.
