RUNNERS lined up for a 10km jog around Stockley Park at the weekend - and the Gazette has the race full results.

Organisers Purple Patch Running declared the fourth annual Stockley Park 10K a success and said the dry but breezy weather made for some excellent finishing times.

Completing the route around Stockley Country Park on Sunday (May 20) in the fastest time was Jamal Mohamed, in one second under 34 minutes.

Fifteen minutes later, Uxbridge Gazette editor Alan Hayes came home in 49 minutes, 14 seconds. He said: "Despite very chilly conditions I soon warmed up and really enjoyed the course, which I haven't run before.

"It's a good mix of trail, grass and roadway with a couple of testing gradients.

"The whole race was well organised and well marshalled, and I will definitely be doing it again next year."

Purple Patch co-director Claire Donald said: "It was a great day, not particularly warm but perfect for the runners. They enjoyed the course and the mix of on-road and off-road and we had more take part than last year."

The race started and finished at Bennetsfield Road. Ms Donald added: "It made for a nice atmosphere."

The Uxbridge Gazette is media sponsor of the race.
