EALING MP Steve Pound has visited a pharmacy in Northolt to learn about the services on offer.
Pharmacists at Alpha Chemist on Church Avenue, Usha and Dilip Shah, gave the MP for Ealing North a guided tour and demonstrated the range of health services available including Stop Smoking support, Flu Vaccination, Medicines Use Review and provision of Emergency Hormonal Contraception.
They talked about the number of things they offer and discussed the changes in the NHS.
Mr Pound showed his support to all pharmacists and helped call attention to what is available from pharmacies on the day which was also attended by regular customers.
Mr Pound said: "I was hugely impressed with the range of public health services and I really believe that community pharmacies can play a vital role in helping people stay healthy and take control of their own well being. I will be applying for a debate in the House of Commons to raise awareness of the need to ensure these services continue to be provided."
Usha Shah said: "We want to make sure that our vital service is not forgotten. We can provide for people with long term conditions."
