I AM seeking recollections from former Southern Region Drivers, fireman and fitting staff regarding their former working days on the Bulleid Pacifics in the days of British Railways for a new book now under preparation.

I AM seeking recollections from former Southern Region Drivers, fireman and fitting staff regarding their former working days on the Bulleid Pacifics in the days of British Railways for a new book now under preparation.

The book will be formed completely of working memories, either bad or good, regarding the original or rebuilt versions of this remarkable class of locomotives, from staff representing all the former Southern sheds, including Brighton.

Not all of the Southern sheds were allocated the Pacifics, such as my former shed at Yeovil Town, but nevertheless we worked on them daily.

This is to be a major book regarding working memories and probably the first to feature anecdotes and recollections from most, if not all, the former Southern Region locomotive sheds.
