I wonder if Uxbridge Station refurbishment will be finished before Crossrail?

Any visitor from the continent, especially Germany or France, would stare in disbelief at the bare, concrete shell with a ridiculous, small 'kitchen clock' stuck on top of a 1930s style information sign.

Train delays are just handwritten on a board. I know this country is on the skids but this so called refurbishment has been going on for years. In that time the Chinese would have built a few new rail systems.

We talk about Heathrow expansion and a new high speed rail link from Birmingham and beyond. Forget it.

It took years just to upgrade the West Coast Line.

Opponents of the third runway need not worry. The Tories say they would cancel it.

Also, we have just 'lost it' regarding any engineering projects, and finance is going to be a problem. We would need to get the Chinese to do it for us.

Let's just concentrate on improving what exists of our infrastructure, much of which is wearing out and taking years to finish.
