RIVERSIDE strollers and drinkers in Hammersmith got the chance to be in on the action as they watched filming for BBC One series New Tricks take place.
Stars of the hit crime drama including Alun Armstrong, Amanda Redman and Dennis Waterman could be seen on location outside the Rutland Arms and Blue Anchor Pubs on Lower Mall, off Hammersmith Bridge Road, today (Tuesday).
Passers by were able to watch as camera crews and technicians set up the various shots and a number of extras were fortunate enough to be able to enjoy a relaxed pint while the scenes were shot around them.
News Editor Chris Longhurst was even allowed to pose for a photograph with Mr Waterman, who plays ex-detective sergeant Gerald Standing, during a break in filming.
He said: "I hadn't noticed what was going on until I was right in the middle of the action, Dennis is a bit of a hero of mine from back in his Minder days so it was great to meet him briefly and grab a picture."
Mr Waterman was once a student at The Corona Stage Academy in Ravenscourt Park, while Ms Redman is a resident of the neighbouring borough of Ealing and in the past has presented prizes for our sister paper the Ealing Gazette's Pride in our People awards.
The 10-part series of New Tricks is currently being filmed at Pinewood Studios and on location and will be broadcast later this year.
