Stars of a new Poirot theatre production visited Agatha Christie’s former Chelsea home.

Former Holby City actor Robert Powell, who will play the diminutive Belgian detective in a new incarnation of Black Coffee, visited the author’s home at 22 Cresswell Place.

The crime writer lived in the double fronted mews house in the late 1920s. Originally a stables, Christie convereted the property into a four-bedroom home, which was sold in November after being put on the market for £2.3million.

She later moved to Sheffield Terrace, Kensington. Both properties are now marked with blue plaques.

Powell and co-stars Liza Goddard and Robin McCallum also explored the writing room where Christie penned many of her works.

The Agatha Christie Theatre Company’s ninth production runs at Windsor’s Theatre Royal this week before touring the UK.
