A STANMORE man has been fined for dumping someone else’s rubbish in a Watford street.

Tiberiu Hoffman, of Everton Drive, left a pile of household rubbish in a garage block in Cow Lane on October 3 last year after being paid £50 by a Stanmore resident to get rid of their waste.

He was traced by Watford Borough Council’s environmental crime team and charged.

Hoffman admitted flytipping at Watford Magistrates’ Court on May 18 and admitted the unlicensed carrying of waste in a borrowed hire van from his employer and he was not licensed to carry waste.

Councillor Derek Scudder, the council’s member with responsibility for environmental issues, said: “It is unfair that the residents of Watford have to contribute to clean up costs due to a minority of anti-social people.”

Hoffman was fined £150 for being an unlicensed waste carrier and £350 for flytipping, with a victim surcharge of £15, and ordered to pay prosecution costs of £1,000.
