WORKS of art from budding painters and sculptors were hung at a library in Stanmore this week as the borough's art society opened its spring exhibition.
More than 70 pictures adorn the walls at Stanmore Library in Stanmore Hill while sculptures are also placed around the site.
The Harrow Art Society's Spring Exhibition was officially opened on Monday this week (March 14) and is open to the public until Thursday next week (March 24).
Speaking about the exhibition, which is one of two annual shows put on by the art society, committee member Margaret Mountstephens, who is responsible for exhibitions programme, said: “We have about 90 members and this is a great opportunity for the majority of them to get their work seen and in some cases to sell them.
“Throughout the year we have a number of classes, lectures and the opportunity to do some work together and it all sort of culminates with our exhibitions. We only have two a year, our spring one and one in October so its a great event.”
Harrow Art Society is the oldest of its kind in the area having been founded in 1934, for more information on it or to find out how to join visit www.harrowartsociety.co.uk
