Students at Stanmore College have gained qualifications to work in security during the London Olympics and other high profile events.

Almost 250 students have taken part in the Bridging the Gap project, which aims to create a workforce of up to 8,000 for the Games and Paralympics.

The students, aged 17 to 18, are now guaranteed an interview for paid security work with G4S Security after successfully completing a level two award in door supervision.

They will also be offered future employment opportunities at annual major sporting events.
