GREEN-FINGERED volunteers planted half a kilometre of hedgerow to help brighten up a Hounslow allotment.
Dozens of people spent a total of 15 hours over three days last week getting stuck in at Stanley Road allotment.
Environmental charity BTCV (British Trust of Conservation Volunteers) organised the mass planting to spruce up the site and attract wildlife.
The event, which took place on February 7, 14 and 21, was part of London Mayor Boris Johnson's RE:LEAF campaign to protect trees across the capital.
The project was also supported by Hounslow Council and contractor John Laing, which manages parks and allotments across the borough.
