TWO lambs were baa-dly lost as they found themselves wandering in Queen's Park. Worried residents discovered the baby sheep grazing in gardens in Christchurch Avenue, on Monday.

Officers from the Mayhew Animal Home, in Trenmar Gardens, Kensal Green, were called out to rescue the lambs, thought to be about 10 days old, and give them a new home. The errant pair have since been named Spring and Summer by staff at the centre.

Claire Harper, animal welfare officer at the Mayhew, said: "We certainly don't receive calls like this often but it was a couple of days too early for an April Fool.

"When we arrived the little lambs were cold and dehydrated and probably wouldn't have lasted much longer outside as they're less than two weeks old. "However, they're back at our veterinary clinic now and doing really well, and will be looked after round the clock by our animal care staff."

The Mayhew does not have facilities to house farm animals permanently,so they will care for the lambs until they are healthy enough to be transferred to a suitable sanctuary.
