SQUATTERS have taken over the Brentford home of MPs Ann and Alan Keen.

A group of 10 activists have taken over the derelict house, which the Chronicle revealed two weeks ago had been empty for months.

The MPs claimed £140,000 in four years for a second home 10 miles away in Waterloo which angered the squatters, who have hung a banner from the window saying: "Reclaiming your taxes."

Hounslow Council threatened the couple, who have been dubbed 'Mr and Mrs Expenses' that they would take control of the property if they did not take steps to move back in but on Thursday the squatters managed to get in first.

Mrs Keen's position as a health minister is under pressure as she admitted to claiming for private hospital treatment for a member of her staff and last week the Labour former chairman of the Standards Committee, Sir Alistair Graham, called on the pair to be investigated for fraud by the police.

Mr Keen, who represents Feltham and Heston, and Mrs Keen, who represents Brentford and Isleworth, have always claimed their expenses were above board and have pledged to take action to move back into their home.
