PEOPLE of all ages pedalled around an open space in Brent in an event held to encourage people to cycle more.

Around 20 adults and children took their bikes to Gladstone Park, Dollis Hill, on Sunday, to join a Sky Ride.

It was led by Bob Howard, a British Cycling-trained leader, who said: “It was brilliant.

“We had a good number of people come along and there were two members of the police Safer Transport Team there as well, so it was really well attended.

“Both the kids and adults enjoyed it. There are reasonable hills in the park, so for the young kids to get up these was a great achievement.”

Sky Rides are organised by British Cycling. There have been a number of bike events in Gladstone Park and it is a popular starting point for rides around the borough.

Mr Howard added: “The weather was brilliant and there are some really great views of Wembley Stadium from the top of the hill.”
