A NEW tennis and sports centre is to be built in Pitshanger Park within a year after the council leased out the current lodge.

The renovation will include improved tennis courts, changing area and toilets, a new floodlit multi-use games area, and a new cafe.

The centre in the Ealing park will have eight tennis courts, four of them floodlit.

Will to Win, which runs a similar centre in Lammas Park, South Ealing, has taken over the site.

Its director, Steve Riley, said: "We are very excited about this development which will transform the tennis centre and make a beautiful community focus. It will be done to a high level with a similar feel to the centre we developed in Lammas Park."

The work is being developed with the Lawn Tennis Association, and will offer free access to children and free first sessions to adults.

Coaching will be available for all ages and abilities.

Mr Riley said the building work would be carried out in a ‘sympathetic manner’ and urged people to contact him with any feedback at pitshanger@willtowin.co.uk or on 0795 711 0403.
