A MALICIOUS and spiteful schemer created fake prostitute business cards in the name of his ex-partner as part of a “campaign of harassment”.
Design printing business owner Lee Childs, 45, used his former girlfriend’s name, telephone number, picture and address on professional-looking cards that purported to advertise her services as a late night masseuse.
He then distributed them around Harrow including the school of one of the children of the victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons but lives in Harrow.
Harrow Crown Court heard Childs was dating the victim while seeing a second woman and subjected the former to sustained harassment.
Prosecutor Grace Ong told Harrow Crown Court: “What you did with the business cards was extremely offensive and lead to disruption to the victim’s personal and business life.
“You even sent yourself mobile phone reminders to remind yourself to print and distribute the business cards. Her pictures were published on the cards which you had taken from her Facebook page.”
Ms Ong said the 45-year-old businessman contacted Harrow Council’s social services department to lodge a fictious complaint about a supposed lack of care for children.
Childs, of Northampton, Northamptonshire, admitted harassment.
He was jailed for five months today at the crown court by Judge Graham Arran who called the criminal acts “malicious, vindictive and incredibly distressing for the victim”.
Judge Arran said: “The harassment is thoroughly unpleasant and has been a campaign of malice and spite, I do not know of a harassment case that could be more serious than this."
Childs was handed restraining order to prevent him entering the road where the victim lives.
