STUDENTS at Villiers High School are still being sent home after protests earlier in the week.

An update on the school's website for February 11 says that only years 7, 8 and 11 will be allowed in school. Sixth formers are also allowed to attend.

The update adds and year 11 pupils must have a signed note in their diaries from their parent/carer stating: “My child is attending school today and will not participate in any protests or disruptive behavior.”

And they will only be allowed through the main gate.

There have been extraordinary scenes at the school over the last seven days, as hundreds of students staged demonstration after maths teacher Amerjit Virdee was sacked.

Mr Virdee, who had taught at the school for 29 years, was dismissed, pending appeal, following a disciplinary hearing into allegations of misconduct.
