MESSAGES of support from around the world have been received by Featherstone Primary School as it recovers from the devastation caused by a fire last month.  Schools from as far afield as China and South Africa have sent their best wishes as the children at the school, in Western Road, Southall, are phased back into education. Pupils were displaced and the school's junior block took massive damage during a massive blaze at the site on November 5. The school's headteacher, Kate Bailey said: “The messages have been tremendously heartening. “We've involved with the International Schools Gold Award and have had messages from other schools in China, South Africa “This is a strong school community and children, parents, governors and staff have pulled together to make the temporary changes work successfully.” The community in Southall has rallied together as Featherstone High School and Khalsa Primary have helped provide space for pupils. Mrs Bailey also expressed her gratitude to the two schools for their help as all children are now back in classes. A spokesman for Ealing Council said nursery, reception, year 1 and year 2 pupils returned to school last month in the repaired infant block on the Featherstone Primary site. Years 3 to 5 are temporarily relocated to the Khalsa Primary School and Year 6 are temporarily relocated to Featherstone High School Years 3-6 will remain on their temporary sites until mobile classrooms are ready for them at Featherstone Primary. They will remain in their mobile classrooms until the juniors block is repaired, estimated for some time around Spring. The Interntational Schools Gold Award is a worldwide scheme linking schools which meet a set criteria and is co-ordinated by the British Council.
