A man has been charged with murder after the body of a woman was discovered in a lay-by in Buckinghamshire.

Anita Kapoor from Hayes was discovered by a member of the public at 8.36am on Tuesday (23/6) in undergrowth close to a lay-by on Amersham Road, A413, Gerrards Cross.

Navin Mohan, aged 34, of Quaker Lane, Southall, London, was arrested on Wednesday (24/6) and today (27/6) has been charged with Anita’s murder.

A Home Office post mortem was carried out on Wednesday and cause of death was given as asphyxiation, due to compression of the neck.

Senior Investigating Officer, Det Ch Insp Kevin Brown of the Major Crime Unit, said: “As a result of extensive enquiries in Thames Valley and the Metropolitan Police areas, Navin Mohan, aged 34, of Quaker Lane, Southall, London, was identified and arrested on Wednesday and has now been charged with murder.

“He is due to appear at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on Monday (29/6).

“The family of Anita Kapoor continue to be supported by specially trained officers and our thoughts and condolences remain with them.

“I would like to thank the Metropolitan Police and the public for their continued assistance in this investigation which will continue until trial.”
