A SOUTHALL man has been arrested in connection with an aggravated burglary in west London.
Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident in order to identify another man, who offices believe may also be from Southall, whose image was captured on CCTV.
The incident happened on Saturday June 4, 2011 at about 4pm. The victim, a 27-year-old female, was at her flat in Courtfield Gardens, Earl’s Court when she heard a knock at the door.
She opened the door and two men forced their way in, threatening her with a weapon before stealing items including jewellery, mobile phones, a laptop and camera. They finally left after about 45 minutes. The woman was terrified but unhurt.
Officers from Kensington and Chelsea CID are investigating. Detective Constable John Cahill, based at Notting Hill police station, said: “This was an extremely nasty incident on a lone woman in her own home. Not only was she burgled but was threatened with violence if she reported the incident.
“To date we have not been able to identify the second man who was captured on CCTV. It is possible the man has links to Southall but we cannot be sure at this time.
“He is an Asian male approximately 6ft 1ins tall and was wearing black trousers, black shoes, black jacket and black gloves. If anyone can help with our enquiries or if anyone knows this man please contact us.”
- A 26-year-old man from Southall was arrested in connection with the incident and charged with burglary. He was remanded in custody and will next appear at Isleworth Crown Court on December 12.
