A TROUBLE spot in Southall for drug dealing and anti-social behaviour has been shut down by Ealing Council.

Ealing Magistrates Court granted the council a closure order for 15 Victoria Road, which was served by the council’s safer communities team on August 2.

Under this order, anyone who enters the house over the next three months is committing a criminal offence, and risks being arrested.

The owner of the property was also ordered by Ealing Magistrates Court to pay the council more than £4,500 in costs.

The council worked with police to collect evidence for the premises closure application, which included speaking to residents about problems caused by anti-social behaviour arising from drug-dealers and addicts using the house.

Councillor Ranjit Dheer, Ealing leader for community services and safety, said: “This is a great outcome for residents of this street, who were too afraid to leave their homes after dark while this drug-house was in operation.

“By closing this house, the council has made this part of the borough safer, and helped protect residents from being affected by on-going criminal activity in their street.”
