My friend Rose commented to me that Hounslow town centre has had more smoke from cigarettes since the smoking ban began.
People now stand or sit smoking on benches, at bus stops or in pub gardens.
The air is so smoky it makes my asthma worse. We think there should never have been a blanket ban on smoking in public places.
Maybe it could have been introduced in some cafés and pubs, with slightly fewer smoking areas, but not everywhere.
I expect most towns and open spaces are now filled with smoke.
I remember the song Smoke Gets in Your Eyes and, believe me, it does.
