A WELL-KNOWN choreographer came to teach his famous Bollywood routines in Northolt.

Creator of the accompanying moves to popular song ‘Jai Ho,’ Longinus Fernandes delivered two taster sessions to around 50 people last Sunday (23) at the leisure centre on Eastcote Lane North.

The artist, recognised for the Slumdog Millionaire closing credits dance, had great responses and wants to promote his classes further.

Nisha Patel, Administrator for BFA (Bollywood Film Academy), said: “It went really well- everyone I spoke to had a good time and hopefully they will be enrolling next week.

“It’s a great workout. Longinus sees the calibre of students and plans accordingly. He went over the steps and almost finished the whole song, which was one taken from a Bollywood film. People were wowed by how fantastic he is and said he is a great teacher.”

She added: “He has choreographed so many songs and his style of teaching is open to all audiences.”

With sufficient interest the Bollywood classes, which are on a pay as you go basis, could branch out to other places around Ealing and beyond.

Award winning Mr Fernandes is in the UK to conduct workshops across five cities.

They are open to all and booking can be made through nisha@bfacademy.co.uk or by calling 07912 446357.

The Indian star, who won the Filmfare Best Choreographer Award in 2009, is keen to engage and encourage UK talent to take to dancing. His course will allow lovers of Bollywood to receive a certificate on completion of the 12 week course and will also be given the opportunity, based on talent, to feature in a Bollywood musical.
