Six arrested after spate of gold jewellery stolen from Asian pensioners

Elderly Asian women were being targeted for their gold jewellery in the Stonebridge area, officers have since arrested six people after they carried out searches.

Six people have been arrested after Asian female pensioners were targeted for their gold jewellery.

Officers from Stonebridge Safer Neighbourhood Team searched five addresses on the St Raphael's estate in Rainborough Close, Stonebridge.

During one of the searches, officers discovered a large quantity of cannabis, two men, one 42, the other 17 years-old, and 23 year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply and three men aged, 17, 18 and 20 were all arrested on suspicion of robbery.

The searches took place on Tuesday, July 22, all six remain in custody at a north London police station while enquires continue.
