A barbershop harmony club celebrated its 30th anniversary by having a party on a boat.

Capital Chorus, who meet every Monday evening at Kingsdown Methodist Church, Northfield Avenue , Northfields, boarded the Golden Sunrise on Saturday (July 12) .

About 90 singers and family members and friends were joined by singers from sister chorus Capital Connection, based in Uxbridge , for the trip that went from Temple pier to Westminster, down to Greenwich and back again.

Club Chairman, Paul Gordon, said: “Everyone had a great day. We had a barbecue on board, a bit of singing and sightseeing, and a DVD running of past performances.

“We had a ring binder full of bits and pieces from the last 30 years for people to look at.”

The journey was part of a year of celebrations for Capital Chorus, which will include a joint concert on November 15 with Ealing Rock Choir at St Barnabas Church, Pitshanger Lane.
