X Factor judge Simon Cowell has been spotted enjoying a meal at the Harvester in Hanwell with one of this year's contestants, Stevi Ritchie.
The dinner came about following a conversation on Saturday’s show. After his performance of title song from Kevin Bacon fllm, Footloose, Stevi offered to show the pop mogul around Colchester along with Louis Tomlinson of One Direction.
"Can we go to a Harvester? I’d like that," Simon had replied.
The Mirror reports that Simon was offered a free starter or sundae by the restaurant chain after his endorsement saw it trend on Twitter. The pair did not get back to Stevi's home town of Colchester however, as they were spotted at the Hanwell restaurant in Boston Manor Road instead.
Other diners are said to have been amazed to see Cowell at the salad bar and were queuing up for pics and autographs with him. One described the encounter as "the most surreal moment of my life" and took photos and a video of Simon.
Moments before the meal, Stevi said on Twitter: "Ok so I’m having a meal at harvester with the boss man himself Mr Simon Cowell and I’m sooooo nervous."
After leaving the The Royal Harvester in Boston Manor London, Cowell said on Twitter: "Thanks for dinner Stevi. Scampi and chips at the Harvester. Delicious." Crispy scampi at the restaurant costs £4.99.
Despite being a loveable character, Stevi has been criticised on the X Factor for his vocals, which are not seen by the other judges as strong enough to warrant his place on the show.
