A CHEEKY youngster after his dream job was granted a personal tour of the Harefield Dogs Trust by its CEO.

Seven year-old Charlie Knight, from Walton on Thames, contacted the CEO Clarissa Baldwin through online social networking site Facebook, to say he wanted her job.

Impressed by the cheeky request, Ms Baldwin, who is in charge of the Harefield Dogs Trust, in Harvil Road, decided to offer Charlie a tour of the centre last week, which looks after injured and unwanted dogs and tries to find them a new home.

Clarissa Baldwin, Dogs Trust chief executive, explains: "I was intrigued to read that someone so young was after my job.

As a CEO you do come to expect this type of thing, but I was somewhat taken aback to read that my rival is just seven years old.

"It seems that our primary schools are doing a great job in installing a sense of ambition into their charges.

"I embraced this threat head on and offered to check out my competition face-to-face.

"The outcome of The Apprentice-style ‘show down’ took place at Dogs Trust Harefield where Charlie certainly put me through my paces."
