A four-car pile up caused severe delays on the M4 in Brentford today (19).

The early morning rush hour accident included four vehicles of which one is believed to have spun 180 degrees before coming to a halt, according to the police.

The accident led to the one lane being blocked on the busy stretch of the motorway.

Police and the medics from the London Ambulance Service attended the incident.

Paramedics were called and checked seven patients at the scene.

No-one was taken to hospital.

Police said four vehicles, all cars, were involved but everybody appeared to be okay.

A police spokesman added: "There was a damage only accident on the M4 Brentford westbound just before J3.

"We were called at 7.14am.

"By 8.49am the M4 had been cleared from the accident."

A man in his 20s was rushed to hospital after a car and van crashed on the Hounslow Road at the junction with Uxbridge Road in Hanworth, yesterday (Aug 18).
