I AM disabled and in 1994 Ealing Council gave me a disabled bay outside my home.

I used to display my badge and clock but it often got stolen and, as it is now only valid for three hours, I would have to go out and change the clock.

On discussing this with the council I was given a permanent sticker with a wheelchair on it so that when parking in my bay it would be sufficient proof that it is a disabled person's car.

The other day I went in my wheelchair to get something from my car, only to see a PCN slapped on my windscreen. The parking attendant did not take any notice of the disabled sticker or the word disabled on my tax disc.

If it was causing an obstruction or had no disabled sign/wording on it OK, I would be in the wrong but both the sticker, and the tax disc states 'owner disabled'. The bay was put there in 1994 and until yesterday a ticket has never had to be issued.

I would like this ridiculous story printed so all local residents can see just what this borough is coming to. I am also claiming compensation from Ealing Council for the upset and trauma this has caused me.
