A second person has been hit by a train in the space of a week after a man was killed at Ealing Broadway Station on Wednesday.

This follows a fatality at Southall Station last Wednesday when a local man was also hit by a train and killed.

Due to the chaos caused to trains coming in and out of Paddington peak time restrictions were lifted.

A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said: ''Officers were called to Ealing Broadway station on Wednesday, July 9 following a report that a man had been struck by a train.

''Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service also attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

''The incident was first reported at 2.11pm and is currently being treated as non-suspicious.

“Officers are working to identify the man and inform his family.

“A file will be prepared for the coroner.”

The line was handed back to Network Rail at 3.35pm.
