MY NAME is Wendel James Hough. I live in South Africa, and I am researching our lost family members in Hounslow.

My story starts on January 16, 1880, when one Louis Wentzell was born in Hounslow.

He is still found on the London census of 1901 and between this date and 1903 he relocated to South Africa, possibly never returning.

He married a Maria Magdalena Potgieter in Groot Marico, South Africa. They had five children and Louis died on the December 12, 1961.

The Potgieter family has a long Boer history in South Africa, and we wonder if the marriage was the reason for Louis not returning to England.

About three weeks ago while going through some documents of James Wentzell, one of the sons of Louis, we stumbled on to a document with a Hounslow address.

The question is, what does it mean? Did Louis Wentzell have a brother born in 1885 in Hounslow, England?

The family does not know the answer.

If anybody remembers a Wentzell family in Hounslow, please let us know. The address given on the document was 27 Curtis St, Hounslow, Middlesex, England.

We would like to find out who lived there. This could further lead my family to the names of the parents of Louis Wenzell which are lost to us.

Wendel James Hough, Great-grandson.
