Popular Harrow indie band Scouting for Girls has been nominated for three Brit Awards.

The musicians, who hail from in and around the borough, will battle it out for a chance to win best British live act, British breakthrough act and best British single.

The chart-topping trio handed out gifts to sick children at Northwick Park Hospital to support the Observer Christmas Toy Appeal last month.

Children and nurses eagerly lined up to get autographs and CDs from the band as they toured the ward.

The prestigious ceremony will take place at London's Earls Court on February 18.
