Harrow's favourite indie band Scouting for Girls walked away empty handed from the Brit awards last night - losing out in three categories.

The three piece, who hail from in and around the borough, were pipped by Welsh songstress Duffy in the best British breakthrough category, while rock legends Iron Maidan beat them to best British live act.

Their failure to scoop best single, with their hit Heartbeat, which was claimed by Girls Aloud with Promise, capped off a disappointing night.

In fact, the last accolade picked up by the boys was the NME's worst band of 2008 award.
