Residents of two blocks of flats were forced to flee their homes after gas seeped into their homes from an underground leak.
Fire crews were called to Poplar Court in Old Ruislip Road, Northolt at about 3.30pm yesterday (16).
There were about eight firefighters at the scene at all times until the gas had dissipated at 3.45am this morning.
They used their breathing apparatus to help identify the source of the leak and kept their water jets ready in case a fire broke out.
