A CANADIAN schoolgirl has reportedly been quizzed by police after a dead baby was found in a Hounslow hotel.
The girl, believed to be aged 15, was questioned by police in Canada after the body was found at the Days Hotel, in Lampton Road, Hounslow, last Saturday (March 19).
She is understood to have been on a school trip and had already returned home when the body was discovered.
A spokeswoman for the Met Police confirmed officers had been called to the hotel at 12.45pm following the discovery of the body.
She said the baby's mother had been identified and detectives from the Child Abuse Investigation Command were investigating, in liaison with the Canadian authorities.
The child was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem carried out on Friday (March 25) proved inconclusive and further tests are being carried out to establish the cause of death.
The body, believed to be that of a boy at full-term, was reportedly discovered in a hotel room by a worker.
No inquest has been opened and no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
No one at the hotel was available to comment.
