THE Harrow Observer series has a new editor, David Tilley, 34, started the job on Monday and is relishing the role.

I AM delighted to have been appointed the editor of the Observer series, following two years as content editor of the Uxbridge Gazette series - also owned by Trinity Mirror, which publishes this newspaper - and more than 10 years as a journal-ist.

I am originally from St Helens in the north west of England, but Harrow has been my home for the last two years, and I could not think of a more interesting place to live in London, with its diversity, culture and open green spaces.

Some of you might have the misfortune to see me as I run about the borough sweating, in a vague effort to get fit, while keeping an eye out for any potential stories. But generally I enjoy watching football, especially Liverpool, cricket and rugby league, as well as cooking, cinema and trying to get something edible to grow in my garden.

It is an exciting time to be involved with the Observer, as we have a revamped website - www.harrowobserver.co.uk - fronted by our multimedia content editor, Tom Parnell, which is growing in popularity by the day.

We would like to hear your news, views and events, all of which you can post on the site.

I, and the rest of the team, look forward to hearing from you all.
